The fundraiser included a charity motorcycle run, delicious barbecue, live
auction, door prizes, music by the band, Another Level, and much more.
Registration for the run began at Lou’s Saloon on Leopard and ended at
Knuckleheads located at N. Upper Broadway following a 90 mile route, where the
party and other activities continued into the evening.
“We appreciate the community’s support of this year’s event,” said James
Robertson, president of the Reguladores LEMC-CC Chapter. “Fundraisers like this
give motorcyclists an opportunity to help make Corpus Christi a better place to
live by helping children at risk.”
CC-PAL and the NCCAC are local non-profits that provide services to at-risk
children in Nueces County, respectively providing positive sporting activities
with an emphasis on education, as well as working with Child Protective Services
to support the children and their families who are the alleged victims of sexual
assault, severe physical abuse or who have witnessed violent crimes.
“Last year we interviewed 1,725 children and provided services to over 3,300
victims. Thanks to the Reguladores and all the bike run participants, we will be
able to continue to help these children and make a difference in their futures,”
said Mindy Guajardo, Executive Director of the Nueces County Children's Advocacy
Center.
Motorcyclists and participants in cars joined in the fun, helping raise money
for local organizations that provide services to the children of Nueces County.
The Reguladores LEMC Corpus Christi Chapter was founded for peace officers, their families and friends with no restrictions on motorcycle brands, sex, race, or religion. The Club’s goal is to generate an increased level of enthusiasm for riding motorcycles, while supporting other clubs, promoting safe activities and assisting non-profit organizations through fundraising or volunteerism.
